Kharkiv medical plastics and dental products factory or joint-stock company "STOMA" today was founded in 1929. It is the only in Ukraine and the largest in the CIS producer of the broad assortment of dental products.

Being the owner of imported modern equipment JSC "Stoma" is the exclusive supplier of aerosol medications componentry such as elastron covered balloons, metering and continuous valves, wide range of nozzles, mechanical metering pump-valves VM-1.

However we always strive forward centered in commercialization of the process and introduction of new equipment.

In 1994 we commercialized the production of effective aerosol medications, namely Cametonum, Camphomenum, Ingalyptum, Proposolum, Livianum and Olasolum.

In 1998-1999 JSC "Stoma" approached the production of the following aerosols: Nitroglycerin, Olasolum, Decasolum, Pirosol, Aerosol for stomatology, Streptourasol, Dinitrate isosorbid. Self-curing plastics (ACT-T, Butacryl) produced by JSC "Stoma" have a great run.

In 1998-1999 JSC 'Stoma' proceeded to production of finished pilled medicines from imported materials (Acetylsalicylik acid, Ftalasol, Cinnarisin-Stoma, Citramon-Stoma, Phthivazid, Ranitidin, Enalapril, Nitroglycerin, Loratadin-Stoma, Active Carbon).

The quality of "Stoma" stomatological products is confirmed by the State Certificate of Ukraine, Russia and Belarus and fits with the standards of ISO-9001.

Kharkiv medical plastics and dental products factory (joint-stock company "STOMA" today) was founded at the suggestion of People`s Committee of Health for the purpose of organization of domestic production of stomatological material in 1929

Since that time 70-year history of the factory named the factory of artificial teeth at that time and producing only several thousand a year of them has began.

In 1937 in a pre-war period when there were 150 workers our factory refused services of foreign companies and commercialized production of ceramic teeth. This event was the start of domestic production of stomatological material.

Since 1942 to 1944 during The Great Patriotic War collective of the factory was in evacuation in the city of Frunze and managed to organize a large consignment of stomatological material output that was sent to front and base dentist's offices: artificial ceramic teeth, stence, phosphate-cement, low-melting-point metal, different waxes, bone flour etc.

In May 1944 having returned from evacuation to Kharkov few workers of the factory arranged its main nomenclature output in leased premises as former factory was completely destroyed. In the shortest time production of new stomatological materials so essential at that time to give stomatological support for front and population was began.

In 1945 our factory has mastered production of AKR-7 basic plastic creators of which were honored by the title of State Prize laureates. Production of this material made it possible to replace deficient caoutchouc and to make accessible mass prosthesis.

In the post-war period the factory played a decisive role in treatment of patients requiring ocular prosthesis, jaws and artificial teeth. While our dental factory produced 7 goods in 1946, it produced 32 of them in the beginning of 50-s and 53 - in 1961.During two years (1956-1958) 11 products were mastered by the factory and the output oh teeth numbered 22 millions items a year. In 1957 every 12 days the factory produced as many goods as for all pre-war year 1940.

In the beginning of 60-s government took the decision to maintain dental services and to provide the factory with means for reconstruction of the company. In five years (1963-1968) actually new reequipped factory was built.

The year 1968 was the year of SECOND BIRTH OF THE FACTORY, the collective of the factory got light rooms, dining room, amenity rooms. In comparison to 1940 the output of production increased greatly in the end of 60-s and since 1964 stomatological material manufactured by the factory have been being exported to more than 20 counties of the world.

Since 1967our factory has been a regular participant of international exhibitions, in 60-70-s 15 of its exhibits and 40 developers were awarded with USSR National Economy Progress Exhibition silver and golden medals, including NEPE big silver medal received for invention of AST-T plastic in 1962. In 1967 production of this plastic was 400 tons a year.In 1977-78 complete imported line for production of valve and pulverizer sets for medical aerosol packages was installed. During the first half of 1979 our factory mastered surface coating coatication of glass aerosol balloons.

During the 80-ies the factory personnel of which consists of 1200 employees is woking up domestic and world markets being the only manufacturer of stomatological material and aerosol systems in the USSR.

In 1981 the factory produced 133 descriptions of dental materials and polymeric products, 59 of them were exported. In the middle of 80-ies the assortment was widened with a number of goods for children, such as "Gribok" set, "Aviakonstructor" game and so on. We always care for people working in our factory. In the 70-ies factory workers got the possibility to have a rest on the coast of Azov in "Solnechny" rest home and in "Sosnovy Bor" rest home in Martovaya village, not far from Kharkov. In 1978 132-apartments house which had been built on the means of the factory and had solved all housing problems of the workers of the factory put in commission.

In the 80-ies the first in the region factory vegetable store, health complex were built. The factory was enlarging and in 1980 building of working areas and storage rooms complex situated near the railway station "Bezludovka" was finished. Its usable area was 1 5500 m2.

In 1992 this area was increased to 1800 m2. On the production space of the second working area in the Bezludovka village production of "Rodnik", unique individual device for disinfection of water was organized. In the beginning of 90-ies the first specialized "Stomadent" Ukrainian-Russian-American Ltd that has produced high quality filling material of the same name on the basis of American technology was created. The end of 1993 and the beginning of 1994 were marked with a very important for the collective decision - the factory became one of the first joint stock companies in Kharkov.

And since 1994 as a result of commercialization of a new line of activity (production of aerosol medications) the factory began to supply aerosol medications - "Cametonum", "Camphomenum", "Inhalyptum", "Proposolum", "Livianum", "Olasolum" - to the domestic market in addition to characteristic products. In 1999 this list was replenished with new titles : "Nitroglycerin", "Decasolum", "Streptourasol" etc. In 1998-1999 JSC 'Stoma' proceeded to production of finished pilled medicines on the basis of imported equipment (Acetylsalicylik acid, Ampicillin Trihydrate, Ftalasol, Active Carbon etc.). These medicines are highly competitive with their foreign analog. Created facility makes it possible to produce about 20 millions blisters of FPM a year.

JSC "Stoma" cooperates with many of the Ukrainian and Russian scientific research institutes and enterprises. For 75 years almost all achievements of the domestic production of dental products go by the name of our company and despite recently emerged intense foreign competition JSC "Stoma" products still enjoy keen demand due to its checked quality and reasonable prices. More than 20 years the company is leaded by V.G. Volkov and all reorganizations including creation of new lines and JSC "Stoma" inself are connected with his name. Workshop #1 produces acryl plastics, medical and dental products.
